School in Bagno di Romagna
2019 – Bagno di Romagna (Forlì-Cesena province, Italy)
For our entry for the competition for the new Manara Valgimigli middle school, we sought in the environment and architecture what could best describe the town of San Piero in Bagno and the answer was not difficult: the stone of its buildings and the green of its surroundings.
That’s why we conceived a school with stone and glass facades where to rediscover the homely feeling of tradition and observe the reflections of the surrounding nature.
Our project maximizes the available space, making full use of it from a basement lit by large windows, up to the roof terrace which is a veritable hanging courtyard always open to students and teachers.
From the point of view of sustainability, this project respects the principles of bioclimatic architecture.
